Types of Tubal Factor Infertility

Blastocyst Culture Procedure

Endometriosis

Although Endometriosis originates in the uterus, oftentimes it spreads to fallopian tubes and damages the tubal tissues. Tissue growth caused by Endometriosis can prevent blood supply to the tubes. Furthermore, damage to the tubes caused by Endometriosis leads to build up of scar tissues. Excessive buildup of scar tissues can create blockage in tubes leading to infertility.

Infections

Infections such as Chlamydia or Gonorrhea are the most common reason for tubal factor in the patients. These STIs enter the body through intercourse and cause irritation and inflammation in the fallopian tubes. This condition is also known as Salpingitis. The same can be caused by overgrowth of bacteria in the normal vaginal flora if they spread to the tubes.

Congenital Deformity

When it comes to the question of structure of fallopian tubes, congenital abnormalities come into picture. Some women may be born without both of the fallopian tubes or some may be born with ruptures on tubes and deformed shape of one of the fallopian tubes. These congenital deformities can cause severe tubal factor infertility in the patient.

Tubal Surgeries in Past

Tubal Surgeries have an added risk of propagation of infection with it. Surgeons always undertake proper care and maintain hygiene and sanitisation guidelines while conducting operations of any kind. However, it's still always possible that some sorts of infections may still enter the body and affect the tubes inadvertently at any stage of the surgery.
